The 'For The Love of Dogs' presenter died suddenly on Tuesday (28.03.23) evening at the age of 67 and 48-year-old Sharon Mousley - who Paul fathered during a brief relationship with work colleague Diane Jansen, now 76, when he was just 18 years old - has spoken out about the tragic loss for the first time and admitted she and her mum are "distraught".

She told MailOnline: "What can I say? We are all devastated, I am, my mum is, everyone is. We loved him and we will miss him.

"We are all distraught.

"Mum's very upset. We are all just devastated."

News of the death of the beloved presenter - who rose to fame in the 1990s with his drag act Lily Savage - was announced by his husband Andre Portasio.

He said in a statement: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.

"He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.

"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."

Paul's long time radio producer Malcolm Prince had visited his friend - who had recently been touring as Miss Hannigan in the stage musical 'Annie' - at his home just hours before his death.

He tweeted after the news was announced: "He was so proud of Annie, so happy to be back on Boom Radio, and he was looking forward to so many new projects.

"And now he's gone. I can't believe it. We have lost a unique talent - and I've lost a dear friend."
