Dermot O'Leary "stressed out" over his opening dance routine at the 2017 National Television Awards.
The 43-year-old television presenter took to the stage at London's The O2 on Wednesday evening (25.01.17) to showcase a dance sequence, which was choreographed by professional Brian Friedman, and although the show's host has been praised as a "perfectionist", Brian has admitted Dermot took his rehearsals "very seriously".
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the star-studded ceremony, the American star said: "Why I really came was because I did the opening performance, it's sort of a surprise, no one really knows what's happening. Dermot is involved in it.
"Dermot's fun, he's a perfectionist in everything he does. But he takes it [the dancing] really seriously and I'm like 'It's really not that big of a deal what you're doing, it's supposed to be fun'. But he takes it very seriously. If it gets too intense he does stress out though."
Although the British star is focused during his training, Brian - who has choreographed 'The X Factor' dances for 10 years, as well as musicians including Beyoncé and Britney Spears - has admitted Dermot is a "natural mover", and is a professional when it comes to "organic" movements like the "Dad dance".
When asked if Dermot is a natural on the dancefloor, Brian said: "He is. He's a natural mover. He does better with organic type of movements, if you have a name for it like a Dad Dance, it helps."
Meanwhile, Brian has revealed he is currently working on his debut theatre show called 'Mob' in Las Vegas.
Speaking about his future plans, he said: "I'm working on a musical. It's going to be my first ever musical in Vegas called 'Mob'. It's a racy little show about The Mob."
