Denise Welch tricked Kelle Bryan about joining 'Hollyoaks'.

The 45-year-old actress - who has played Martine Deveraux since 2018 - explained how the 62-year-old star, who has joined the Channel 4 soap as Trish Minniver, gained inside information about the show by saying her friend had landed a role.
Kelle told Digital Spy: "She was brilliant because it's supposed to be confidential when you join the show. So she called me up and said, 'One of my friends is thinking of joining the cast of 'Hollyoaks', can you give me some insight into what it's like?' I gave her all the insights and she said, 'Oh that's brilliant, thanks so much, hun'.
"Three or four weeks later, she was like, 'You know that friend of mine? It's me!' I was like, 'What?! Oh my God! You totally conned me!"
Kelle has loved having her 'Loose Women' co-star on the soap, as the pair get to share more memories together.
She said: "Denise had been brilliant with me when I joined 'Loose' because she'd been there a lot longer than me, so it worked the other way in that and she introduced me to people. It'll be nice to share so many more lovely moments together. We got on really well before 'Hollyoaks' and it's made us even closer."
However, they are yet to share a scene together due to the coronavirus restrictions on set, but remain hopeful their characters will eventually meet.
She added: "I don't know! Sometimes characters do cross paths, but with COVID it's a bit more difficult because you can only have limited people in different sets at different times.
"That might make a difference over how quickly the characters can intertwine. But I'm sure we will because her character is brilliant. It'd be so much fun."
