The 65-year-old star first appeared as a full-time panellist on the ITV1 lunchtime chat show from 2005 until 2013 and returned to the desk in 2018 but revealed that she once came off air to find she had angered her sister Debbie by revealing intimate details about her private life on live television.

Speaking on stage during ‘Loose Women Live’ on Wednesday (06.09.23), she said: “When you’ve done a show as long as this, you have to edit yourself. Sometimes, our families sit there at home absolutely s****** themselves. There was one time that I came off air.

“I’d said something that got a laugh and my phone was just bleeping. It was my sister. I said ‘Are you all right?’ She said ‘No I’m not, everyone is staring at me.’

"I’d just told the whole nation that she had s****** the best man over the pool table at a wedding!”

The former ‘Coronation Street actress was joined on stage in her hometown of Newcastle by ‘Birds of a Feather’ star Linda Robson, Sun columnist Jane Moore and anchor Charlene White as the TV stars - who drank cocktails as they appeared on a more glamorous version of their daytime set - treated their audience to a raunchier version of the daytime favourite.

As well as discussing serious topics and taking questions from the audience, Denise tried to teach her fellow panellists a Geordie accent, the ladies confessed all during a risqué game of Never Have I Ever and former ‘Emmerdale’ actress Charlie Hardwick made a guest appearance for an interview.

A rotation of panellists from ‘Loose Women’ are currently making their way across the country for their live stage show, which will see other regular stars like Janet Street-Porter, Brenda Edwards and Kaye Adams reveal never-before-heard stories and secrets.

‘Loose Women Live’ is touring until the end of September.
