Denise van Outen reveals Prue Wallace could have survived the 'Neighbours' explosion.
The 45-year-old star's character was written out of the Australian soap on Wednesday (18.03.20) when she was caught in the crossfire of Finn Kelly's (Rob Mills) revenge plot against Lucy Robinson (Melissa Bell), and seemingly died as the bomb exploded while she was driving.
However, Denise told Digital Spy: "If you're going to go out, what a way to go - in an explosion!
"But it's a little bit of a cliffhanger because the producer said to me: 'We don't know if she survived that. We don't know if she was still in the car. She could have escaped or anything could have happened'.
"So we'll have to wait and see."
Meanwhile, the actress admitted she was never meant to be around for long on the popular show, and if it is the end of the road, she's more than happy with her exit.
She said: "I was fine with it! I loved being part of the show, but I always knew that it was going to be a short-term thing anyway.
"That was always part of the plan, but I've not been able to publicly say what happens to me until now.
"If I was going to be part of a big episode, I wanted it to be something quite dramatic, as you want people to talk about it."
The former 'EastEnders' star was delighted when she found out she was heading Down Under to work on the soap.
She previously said: "I'm so excited. I've got so many friends who are closet fans.
"When it was announced I was going to be in the show, so many people messaged me saying, 'I love 'Neighbours'!'
"It's one of those shows that has a place in everyone's heart. We all remember Scott and Charlene's wedding."
The show has been airing special late night episodes this week - with two still to come - on Channel 5 at 10pm to mark its 35th anniversary.
