Denise Van Outen once headed to church to drink communion wine following massive all-nighter.
The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox star’ - who was raised a Roman Catholic - made an emergency stop at Sunday morning mass so she could drink some holy wine, which represents the "blood of Christ" when blessed.
The former wild child - who found fame hosting Channel 4’s ‘The Big Breakfast’ - revealed her unusual reason for joining the congregation in her new autobiography ‘A Bit Of Me’.
Denise, 47, spilled: “These were the years of wild partying for so many young people – me included.”
"I remember one Sunday morning, after being up all night, my friend Lucy and I realised that we’d run out of alcohol.
‘Where the hell would be open on a Sunday morning that we could get some wine?’ Lucy asked. I thought for a moment and then it hit me, ‘Church!’
“As a Roman Catholic, I knew there was a Communion wine for sipping, plus there was always a reception after the service in the little church in Kensington, where we would get a bevvy.
“God knows what I was thinking, but I’m ashamed to say it wasn’t a one-time thing either.
