Debbie McGee has implied there are some two-faced celebrities on 'Strictly Come Dancing' this year.

The 59-year-old star - who is one of the favourites to win the series this year - has subtly slammed some of her rivals on the ballroom and latin show for coming across as "warm through the television" but cold in real life - but she refused to divulge who has been ruffling a few feathers behind the scenes.

Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: "I understand that we can all have favourites. But some people who are not very warm in real life come through on TV as very warm."

Her coy remarks come just hours after Aston Merrygold - who crashed out of the competition a few weeks ago - suggested she was trying to pull the wool over the public's eyes.

He told OK! Online: "I'm not sure she's terrible, I'd be very happy to say 'Don't try it Debbie, you're not terrible! You're still very good come Monday! Let's not beat around the bush!' She is amazing. On Saturday she's incredible, on Monday she's incredible ... You can't take it away from Debbie she's amazing, she's never bad on a Monday! She's always incredible, it's the semi final now, everyone's showing their worth and she's definitely one to watch."

Meanwhile, since joining the competition, Debbie's strong bond with her professional partner Giovanni Pernice has been the hot topic of conversation but she insists they're nothing more than friends.

She said recently: "For a woman of my age, it was very flattering people think that there might be more. I do have a little chuckle to myself. We have the greatest working partnership. We do have chemistry, we're great mates and I think that's more special than if there was anything else going on. People want me to be in a relationship with him, and I'm really sorry to disappoint them."
