Debbie Douglas has said her life was put "on hold" to watch I'm A Celebrity.

The former 'TOWIE' favourite categorically refused to leave her house for the three weeks 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' aired because she was glued to the TV watching her co-star compete in the Australian outback.

The star enthused: "I absolutely loved it. My whole life came to a standstill because I wouldn't go out. I was like, 'No, can't go out, I've got to watch 'I'm a celeb'!' I think he's done so well.

"He was just being Joey in the jungle, there's no agenda, he wasn't acting like anyone else. I've known him since he was at school."

Debbie - who quit 'TOWIE' this Spring, shortly after her daughter Lydia Bright - was gobsmacked when Joey exited the jungle before the final and believes the Friday night voting was his downfall.

She exclusively told BANG Showbiz at the Lydia Rose Bright and Lipstick Boutique SS14 preview event: "I was absolutely shocked that he didn't come in the last three. All I could think of was timing-wise. A lot of young people vote, it was a Friday. I think that night of voting everyone was out and forgot to vote!"

The reality star thinks Joey should have joined Westlife hunk Kian Egan, who was crowned King of the Jungle, and fashion designer David Emmanuel in the final three because he was the true winner in her eyes.

Debbie said: "He did so many trials, with such enthusiasm as well. For me, he was a winner all the way through it. I'm really glad Kian won, because he seems like a lovely man and I loved David. But for me Joey should definitely have come in the last three and he was the winner all the way through."

Meanwhile, her daughter Lydia admits Joey's successful stint in the jungle has inspired her to consider signing on for the show in the future.

Lydia said: "I would never say no to another reality show like that because I am where I am because of it, it gave me such a window of opportunity. I would never turn my back on any TV.

"I eventually want to do more TV, I'm starting to do more again now, like with 'This Morning' and I did 'Shopaholic Showdown', I would never say no to any reality show."

The Lydia Rose Bright SS14 collection launches at Lipstick Boutique in January 2014.
