Dean Gaffney has become a grandfather at the age of 44.
The former 'EastEnders' star took to social media to announce that his daughter Chloe, 24, has given birth to a little girl named Mimi, making him a very proud grandparent.
In an Instagram post, Dean said: "Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi.
"I am very happy to announce I am a GRANDAD I can’t believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement.
“Chloe and Declan you’re going to be amazing parents. X
"Baby Mimi, born: 07.07.2021.. 7 pound 14oz.
"Just to thank everyone in advance, I know I don’t look old enough to be a father let alone a grandfather!"
Dean - who has been making recurring appearances as the character Robbie Jackson in the BBC One soap since 1993 - posted an adorable picture of himself cradling his new granddaughter alongside the post.
The actor had twin daughters Chloe and Charlotte, who he nicknames 'Dolly', with his childhood sweetheart Sarah Burge when he was just 19.
Dean and Sarah split in 2015 following two decades together.
The TV star also previously revealed that Chloe and Charlotte had turned down the chance to appear on ITV2 dating programme ‘Love Island’ much to his relief.
Talking about Chloe and Charlotte’s offer, he said: "They've been offered 'Love Island'. But they're private, which is nice."
