Dean Andrews would be running a fish and chip shop if he wasn't an actor.
The 'Emmerdale' star was previously a professional singer and then a qualified chef before he rocked up in the Dales, and he believes if he hadn't become a star of the small screen then he would be battering fish and cooking chips.
He said: "I started acting when I was 40, so I was quite late to it anyway.
"I was a professional singer from the age of 17 to 25 years or so.
"I don't think I'd still be doing that, though, as I did go back to catering college and qualified as a chef.
"I didn't want to be the singer who was still on stage when he was 55, trying to be all young and sexy.
"So I went to catering college, qualified as a chef and I started to run the catering at the golf club at the time.
"If I hadn't gone into acting, I think I'd be running a fish and chip shop."
The former 'Ashes to Ashes' star first appeared as Emmerdale's Will Taylor in April 2019.
While Dean has had some hard-hitting scenes with Will going up against Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), he is hoping for some more "light-hearted" segments this year.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: "I'd like to do something more light-hearted maybe with some of the boys - Bob, Jimmy, Marlon.
"It'll be nice when we can have a boys' night, play darts, talk about our lives.
"I had a scene with Nick [Miles, aka Jimmy King] and it was basically him talking about his missus - that's what blokes do: go out, chew the fat, moan to each other."
