Dawn O'Porter has re-watched the moment her late friend Caroline Flack won 'Strictly Come Dancing' nearly 1,000 times, and is "so happy" she was able to experience the show.
The 41-year-old writer took to Instagram to remember her pal - who took her own life in February aged 40 - after she watched Saturday's (10.10.20) 'Strictly: The Best Of' episode, which paid tribute to Caroline, who triumphed on the show's 12th series in 2014.
Dawn wrote: "Gorgeous and impossible to watch all at once. A lovely tribute. The thing I replay the most is the moment she sunk to her knees when she won strictly. I can’t have seen it less than 1000 times. Not many people get to experience that level of joy in their lives and I’m so happy that she did (sic)"
On the tribute episode, Caroline's pro partner, Pasha Kovalev, said the former 'Love Island' presenter transformed into a "beautiful dancer" throughout the series.
He said: "We saw how she transformed into that beautiful dancer - a dancer with a big heart on her sleeve."
'Strictly' pro Janette Manrara praised Caroline as "one of the best dancers we've ever had".
She said: "Caroline Flack, whenever she was around you, you couldn’t help but smile and laugh.
"Caroline was one of the best dancers we’ve ever had come into Strictly Come Dancing.
"I think even from week one she did a Cha Cha with Pasha and she just blew everyone away.
"I'm just so happy that she was able to pick up that Glitterball, and win it - she was amazing."
Show judge Bruno Tonioli admitted the 'Strictly' family will "never forget" her.
He explained: "I loved Caroline, she was so much fun. Great to be with, she was a joy.
"We will always love Caroline and we will never forget her."
Presenter Claudia Winkleman described Caroline - who was the first celebrity to receive a perfect 40 score for all her final routines - as a winner "who stands out amongst them all", and her co-host Tess Daly added "She lit up the 'Strictly' ballroom every single week."
