David Tag is delighted Sylver and Mercedes McQueen are to renew their wedding vows.
The 'Hollyoaks' actor has opened up about his character's rocky relationship with Jennifer Metcalfe's alter ego, and how happy he is to work with his on-screen wife.
He told Digital Spy: "Me and [Jennifer] have such a good chemistry on screen.
"She's just such a laugh to work with, so I was really excited that they put us back together. It was a good shout by the writers!"
In scenes set to air next week, the couple are loved up and enjoying married life after their recent reunion.
However, Mercedes' former flame Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) is still living at The Dog's flat, and she is concerned about his bromance with her husband.
After realising that Warren's son Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) is involved in their mystery goings on, she confronts him - only to discover Sylver is planning to renew their wedding vows.
David explained his character is keen to "start afresh" after everything the pair have been through.
He added: "Because of the problems they've had in the past, including Mercedes cheating on him and having an abortion when the child could have been his baby, for Sylver it's a way to start afresh and wipe the slate clean.
"He wants to move forward and not look back. For him, this is the start of something new and beautiful."
Jennifer previously admitted going to work on set doesn't feel like a job.
She told BANG Showbiz: "I don't feel I work every day. I feel like I go in and have a little play, have a bit of fun, and then I go home.
"Apart from the days when you have to cry all day and then you're like, 'Wow, I really earned my money today.'
"But, generally, I really don't feel like I work. I just enjoy it, I enjoy the characters, I enjoy going in every day to the same faces.
"It is like a family, but I know everyone says that about nearly every workplace they're involved in.
"But there's nothing better than going down the corridor and seeing lots of people that you care about and they care about you, so that's the reason I want to stay."
