David Morrissey has signed up for 'Good Omens'.
The 'Britannia' actor is set to appear in the hotly-anticipated Amazon Prime adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name as Captain Vincent, who is in charge of pleasure cruiser Morbilli.
Series director Douglas Mackinnon confirmed the casting by posting a picture alongside David, and he added the caption: "Look who is next to join the cast of #GoodOmens ! The magnificent David Morrissey as Captain Vincent, who encounters Atlantis... @neilhimself (sic)"
Novel writer Neil confirmed David was shooting the last "big scene" of the six-part comedy.
He tweeted: "The last big scene to be filmed."
Mark Gatiss recently confirmed he and Steve Pemberton have joined the cast of 'Good Omens'.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I'm off to South Africa on Thursday, if my Visa ever comes back. That's a small cameo."
Mark and Steve will play mysterious book-buyers Harmony and Glozier, alongside lead actors Michael Sheen and David Tennant.
He said: "I'm delighted to be working with David and Michael again and of course with Steve - bringing a little Film Noir menace to such an exciting project.
"Being bad never felt so good."
Steve added: "To be asked to fly to Cape Town with Mark and meet up with old friends David and Michael working on a script from the genius mind of Neil Gaiman...?
"Well, you had me at Cape Town. Glozier and Harmony are a small piece of the jigsaw but hopefully one which will fit nicely into place."
The novel, 'Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch' was a collaboration between Neil and the late Terry Pratchett, and is set in 2018 when the Apocalypse is near, and the Good and Evil armies are rising.
Several other stars are also set to feature in the series, including Jake Whitehall, Jon Hamm, Miranda Richardson and Derek Jacobi.
