David Kennedy is "sad" to be leaving 'Hollyoaks' after his character was killed off.
The 54-year-old actor has confirmed he has departed the Channel 4 soap following last night's (24.07.18) dramatic E4 episode in which Milo Entwistle (Nathan Morris) accidentally electrocuted David's character Dirk Savage.
He said: "I've thoroughly enjoyed my time on 'Hollyoaks' and have met and worked with some wonderful people over the past seven years including my real Savage family of Dodger, Will, Liberty, Dennis and Dr Savage as well as my adopted family of Cindy and Holly.
"Dirk has experienced a lot of ups & downs, laughs and tears during his time in the village and I think his big heart (as well as his big appetite) will be missed.
"I'm sad to be leaving as there's a lot of people I'll truly miss seeing each day but the show must go on."
While David is disappointed to depart the soap, he was pleased to go out in such dramatic fashion, and hopes Milo will get his comeuppance in the coming weeks.
He added: "Thank you to all the amazing fans that have always liked and supported Dirk. I'll miss you too. I hope you enjoy Dirk's final episodes.
"They were fun to film. I can only hope that karma eventually catches up with Milo."
Dirk headed to a watery grave last night when he fell into a hotel swimming pool only for Milo to turn on the lights, just as Dirk spotted a danger sign.
He tried to tell Milo not to switch the lights on, but it was too late and he was found unconscious in the water after being electrocuted.
This comes after Milo returned in dramatic scenes last Friday (20.07.18) in which he confronted Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) on a beach and demanded she left Dirk, threatening to tell the whole village about her one-night stand with Damon Kinsella (Jacob Roberts) if she didn't leave him.
