David Hasselhoff will star in a new British television comedy.

The former 'Baywatch' star has revealed he is moving to the UK to film a six-part, semi-improvised series named 'Hoff The Record' - from the makers of Karl Pilkington's 'An Idiot Abroad' - which will air on Dave next year.

Speaking about his new project, David said: "'Hoff The Record' is coming to the UK, only on Dave. They did name the channel after me, right?"

The new programme will be shot in the style of a documentary and is about the life of 'The Hoff', a fictionalised version of the star.

A member of the 'Hoff The Record' production team told The Sun newspaper: "We are thrilled to work with David and are amazed he's game to play a jaw-dropping version of himself for us."

The 61-year-old actor first let slip that he was planning to work with the channel Dave on Twitter last month in a message that was later deleted.

David's last British TV stint was as a judge on 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2011 alongside Amanda Holden and Michael McIntyre.

The 'Knight Rider' star is currently dating Welsh beauty Hayley Roberts, whom he met while in the UK for 'BGT'.
