Sir David Attenborough has made £1 million a year for the past three years.
The 95-year-old wildlife presenter’s firm David Attenborough (Productions) Limited, had £2.9 million for trading in 2019, £800,000 more than in 2018, according to the Daily Mail’s Eden Confidential column.
A £1 million profit was declared for 2018 and 2017.
While David has reached the nonagenarian stage of life, Keith Scholey, who produced his film ‘A Life On Our Planet’, has suggested the BBC stalwart has no plans of slowing down anytime soon.
He said: “David's [the age of] 50 to 52 in how he thinks and how he does things.
“He's got no interest in retiring whatsoever.
“As time is running out, he's doing everything he can now to help to make a difference.”
David is said to own 54 per cent of David Attenborough (Productions) Limited, and his children Susan and Robert are shareholders.
The naturalist previously said he doesn’t think the BBC would have commissioned his first nature show if it was suggested now.
He said the organisation has changed a lot since he made his 1954 programme 'Zoo Quest', which saw him spend months in Africa, and they would be much more cautious about the idea of taking such a risk these days.
He said: “Out of the blue I thought it would be wonderful to go to Africa.
"To my amazement the bosses at the BBC said, ‘That’s not a bad idea’... and they let me do it. I’m sure I could have done it much better if I’d been more experienced or talented, but we got away with it.
"The BBC said, ‘How long will it take?’ ‘Ooh, three or four months’.
"‘Oh well, good luck, my dear chap.
"Hope to see you at Christmas’.
"It was that kind of organisation at the time, it isn’t like that anymore."
