Daredevil is back this March with a second season on Netflix after a hugely successful first, and with it comes the introduction of Jon Bernthal in the role of Frank Castle AKA The Punisher.
Appearing in Marvel comics for some years, The Punisher is an antihero who brings his own drastic form of justice to those he deems unworthy to live a peaceful life.
In the new batch of episodes of Daredevil we'll see Punisher and the titular hero go head to head, clashing over just how criminals and rogues should be treated by a vigilante justice system.
The trailer comes after it was confirmed a Punisher spin-off series was in development at Netflix, because Bernthal's performance as the character was so impressive. Series producer Jeph Loeb told ComicBook.com recently: "Jon Bernthal has succeeded in his quest... His Punisher is extraordinarily memorable, in every way."
Also new to the series is Elektra, played by Elodie Yung. Loeb said of her: "What's fantastic about the story is that it's created this enormous division in his life, because the woman that he once loved has returned, and she certainly has some issues with morality, and how you get the job done, and going on the other end of the spectrum is Frank Castle, who believes that justice needs to be served in a particular way."
Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) returns and is joined by a stellar cast also including Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple) and Scott Glenn (Stick).
Daredevil season 2 comes to the streaming service in all territories where it's available on March 18, with Marvel's Luke Cage following later in the year.
