Danny Dyer signed up to present new show 'Scared Of The Dark' "as soon as" he heard Paul Gascoigne was taking part.
The former 'EastEnders' actor liked the idea of the Channel 4 programme, which will see eight celebrities stuck in a pitch-black bunker - a purpose built living space designed to block out all light - for eight days, with their terrifying experience captured by 50 infrared cameras, but he wanted "interesting" celebrities to be involved.
He told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "They said, ‘Basically we’re going to lock eight celebrities in the pitch black for eight days,’ and I was like, ‘f****** sign me up, it sounds amazing!’.
"It depended on the celebrities for me as well, I wanted it to be interesting people.
"Paul Gascoigne, as soon as I heard his name I signed up."
Danny recently admitted he could "taste" Paul's "rotten" parps while filming the show - but the former England star has hit back at the 'Football Factory' actor, calling him a "f****** liar".
In a bizarre video on Twitter, Gazza raps: "My name is Gazza, but now it's called Gassa, Danny Danny Dyer, you're a f****** liar.
"Drop it like a fart. Drop it like a fart. Drop it like a fart, fart, fart fart.
"Danny Danny Dyer, you're a f****** liar."
Danny admitted the bunker stank, partly thanks to Paul's wind.
He recently explained to the publication: "He’s got a rotten a***, Paul.
"They all began to get immune to it, but I could f****** taste it.
"It did smell in there, I’m not going to lie. Because it’s an enclosed space ... you know what I mean?"
Danny also told how Paul was a prankster on the show, and once put a fishy sandwich inside a bed of one of his co-star's.
He explained: "I think he put a sandwich in someone’s bed - a nice little sandwich, they’re rolling around at night with a f****** salmon or whatever the f*** it was.”
