Danny Dyer has quit Twitter.
The 'EastEnders' star, who portrays loveable pub landlord Mick Carter in the BBC One soap, has decided to take a break from the social networking site for a while in order to focus on his children Danni, 18, Sunnie, eight, and Arty, two.
Revealing to his adoring fans that he's decided to "swerve" the interactive site for a bit, he wrote: "Gonna swerve Twitter for a bit. Gonna be wrapped around my beautiful kids. Because the thing is...." alongside a photo of a hamster wearing a pair of heart shaped glasses and the caption, "Can't see the haters when I've got my love glasses on."
The 38-year-old actor's decision to turn his back on Twitter for the time being came after he was embroiled in a spat with viewers who criticised his acting ability in the 'EastEnders' festive special on Boxing Day (26.12.15).
Despite the negative comments swirling on social networking sites, the popular soap had viewers gripped to their seats as they discovered the bubbly Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb - played by Ricky Norwood - was crushed to death in a car in a vindictive plan, which went wrong, by Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack) to wipe out Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) following their on-going family feud.
And the misery in Walford didn't stop there as Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean) was an emotional wreck after her son Denny Rickman (Bleu Landau) was involved in a car crash.
Her husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) was also delivered the devastating news that he has liver failure following his on-again off-again battle with the bottle.
Meanwhile, although fans were devastated to see Fatboy killed off, viewers were left stunned when Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) made a shock return to Albert Square.
