Danny Dyer insists he no longer goes out drinking because of his hectic filming schedule for 'EastEnders'.
The 36-year-old actor, who plays pub landlord Mick Carter in the BBC1 soap, claims it's the only time he's ever near a bar these days because he's too busy learning lines and shooting scenes.
He told the Sunday Mirror newspaper: "I didn't realise it was such hard work and I'm knuckling down. You won't see me out and about.
Danny Dyer insists he no longer goes out drinking because of his hectic filming schedule for 'EastEnders'.
"Do you know what time I have to get up? It's long hours and there is such a quick turnaround."
He arrived in Walford at Christmas and Danny has now shed his bad boy image after swapping the party lifestyle for a career in soap.
The actor has been a part of a number of emotional storylines since he joined 'EastEnders' and his character will soon discover his sister Shirley Carter, played by Linda Henry, is actually his mother.
And Danny feels viewers have grown to like his emotional character.
He said: "I'm not playing my usual tough, macho character. People are liking the fact that I'm opening up. I'm connecting with people."
The hunk is adamant his future is with the cast of 'EastEnders' and he's eager to forget about a number of embarrassing Box Office failures, including 'Run For Your Wife', starring Denise Van Outen and Sarah Harding, and 2010's 'Basement'.
Speaking at the British Soap Awards last week, where he was nominated for Sexiest Male, he also said: "I put my hands up, I've done some stupid films in the past.
"Now I'm really embracing this chance and I'm really enjoying being at 'EastEnders'.
"There's loads more coming up for Mick. They keep challenging me - which I love. I am here for the long haul."
He added: "They'd better not bump me off. This is proper. I'm never going to lose my edge."
