Danny Dyer has this week dedicated his TRIC Award win to Katie Hopkins, after being handed the Television and Radio Industries Club's Soap Personality prize for his role as Mick Carter in BBC One soap EastEnders. He claimed that the Celebrity Big Brother runner-up is "obsessed" with him during his acceptance speech at the ceremony.

Speaking after the win he said to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I can't get my head around it to be honest with you. She seems a bit obsessed with me... You've got to take the rough with the smooth. You can't please everybody. We've got to stop making these people famous."

The event also saw Strictly Come Dancing take home the award for Reality Programme and The Great British Bake Off win the Factual Programme prize. Downton Abbey was honoured for HD Drama Programma of the Year and Gogglebox won the Entertainment Programme category.
