Danny Baker has signed up to 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!'.
The 59-year-old comedian has reportedly been offered an eye-watering six-figure sum to take part in the forthcoming series of the creepy-crawly show as bosses believe he'll draw viewers in with his hilarious remarks and light-hearted jibes in camp.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, a source said: "Danny has become this year's highest-paid celebrity in the jungle so far with a six-figure sum. He's a real broadcasting legend, so show bosses were desperate to sign him.
"Danny doesn't need the cash, but producers made him an offer he just couldn't refuse. He's a real curveball name, and they're the sort ITV want.
"Danny is absolutely buzzing to be heading into 'I'm A Celeb...' He's always been a fan of the show and can't wait to be thrust back into the public eye again having stepped out of the spotlight for some time to battle the disease. He's a big personality and bosses think he's going to bring a lot of banter and laughter into the camp."
The broadcasting legend's signing comes just days after he announced he was free from cancer following a six-year battle with the disease in his mouth and throat.
He said: "Six years ago I was diagnosed with no doubt, big time, proper full on cancer. Of the head & neck! But I'm all clear now. It's beatable. #NHS (sic)"
Details on the forthcoming series, which is filmed in Australia, are being kept under wraps for the time being but Danny isn't the only name being thrown around at the moment as Carol Vorderman is expected to take part in the tough reality show later this year as bosses hope she'll draw in male viewers with her "sex appeal".
As well as Carol, other names in the frame for this year's show include former footballer Robbie Savage, actress Helen Lederer and model Lisa Snowdon.
'Red Dwarf' actor Craig Charles is also rumoured to be returning to the programme.
He previously spent four days in the jungle two years ago but his stint was cut short after his brother Dean tragically died from a heart attack.
And the former 'Coronation Street' star may not be the only previous contestant to make a return to the outback as Spencer Matthews is also in the rumoured line up.
The 'Made in Chelsea' hunk joined the show last year but was forced to leave just a few days into his stint after producers found out he was taking steroids.
