Danniella Westbrook left devastated after splitting from her boyfriend
The former ‘EastEnders’ star met 28-year-old David - who is currently serving time in Pentonville prison - in 2016 while living in Spain, and the pair got engaged earlier in March.
Despite the actress previously stating she was “happy” with how things were going in the relationship, the couple have decided to call it quits.
A spokesperson for the ex-'Hollyoaks' star told The Sun newspaper: “We can confirm that Danniella has indeed split up with her partner, the decision hasn’t come lightly and it is a decision that she feels is best for her and her career at this moment in time."
Danniella is said to be "devastated" about the split.
A source added to the publication: "Danniella is devastated as she’s really close with David’s family and they have been in an on and off relationship since meeting in Marbella 2016.
"She feels as though she has done the right for both of them although she is heartbroken.
"Danniella is going to take time to focus on herself, her surgery and her career.
"She’s confident that the right man will eventually come along when she least expects it."
Earlier this month, Danniella - who previously played Sam Mitchell in 'EastEnders' - revealed she had a secret lover, after she was spotted having dinner with ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star Grace Andrews' dad Terry, sparking speculation they could be an item.
In March, she said on Instagram: "This is not my boyfriend. It was a working lunch. My boyfriend is in JAIL!!! (sic)"
