Former 'BBC Breakfast' presenter Dan Walker had an out-of-body experience after his near-death bike crash.
The 46-year-old TV star was hit by a car while out on his bicycle in Sheffield in February leaving him battered and bruised with a bloodied face but he was fortunate to avoid sustaining any serious injuries - and he's now revealed he went through a "reset moment" while he was being treated by paramedics at the scene.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper's TV Mag, he explained: "I had a strange experience where I was watching myself on the floor then eventually I came back into my body ... It was a sort of reset moment for me."
Dan previously broke the news of his crash to fans in a post on Instagram hours after the incident, declaring he was "glad to be alive".
He wrote: "Bit of an accident this morning. Glad to be alive after getting hit by a car on my bike. Face is a mess but I don’t think anything is broken. Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for sorting me out and the lovely copper at the scene. This is my smiling Thankful for our NHS [sic]."
Days later Dan admitted wearing a cycling helmet had probably saved his life, and he credited his dog Winnie with keeping his spirits up as he recovered.
In a post on Twitter, he wrote: "Winnie hasn’t left my side this week She’s the best. 2 things happened today... 1. I had my first solid food 2. I ordered a new cycling helmet Thank you for all the lovely messages for asking how I’m doing. The swelling is going down but the body is still aching [sic]."
