Dan Snow’s history programme ‘The Discovery with Dan Snow’ has been renewed for a second season.
The 45-year-old broadcaster, who is best known for hosting the documentary series ‘Battlefield Britain’, will be visiting Stonehenge, the Terracotta Army and Machu Picchu in another series of his Channel 5 show. The second season of ‘The Discovery with Dan Snow’ is due to air next year, and will follow the presenter as he discovers what life would have been like in ancient Peru, and during the building of Stonehenge in the Iron Age.
According to The Sun, he said: “I have been lucky enough to see the sites I dreamed about as a child, and I didn’t just explore them, but also their stories of discovery. It’s been a once- in-a-lifetime experience.”
The historian is also set to show his moves for the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas Special, where he will compete against ‘BBC Breakfast’ host Sally Nugent, ‘Eastenders’ star Jamie Borthwick, ‘The Teacher’ actress Tillie Amartey, rugby hero Danny Ciprianni and ‘Push the Button’ singer Keisha Buchanan to impress the judges.
Dan, who was announced as the first celebrity included in the line up, will be paired with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova, who last appeared on the show with singer Matt Goss.
When the BBC asked how the broadcaster how he felt about participating in the programme, Dan admitted he was “absolutely terrified”, but insisted he was excited to show the judges what he can do.
He said: “I am absolutely terrified about hitting the dance floor. But I love getting out of my comfort zone and I’ve always wanted to learn how to dance properly. So I thought it was now or never!”
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Christmas Special is due to air on Christmas Day on BBC One at 4:40pm and will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
