'Normal People' stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal discussed their "boundaries" before shooting sex scenes for the show.
The 21-year-old actress and Paul, 24, star in some steamy sex scenes in the drama series - which is based on the novel of the same name by Sally Rooney - and Daisy has revealed they chatted about their no-go areas before the cameras started filming.
She told Elizabeth Day's 'How To Fail' podcast: "Paul and I would discuss the boundaries and what we were and weren't comfortable with.
"We also agreed on touch and would say, 'this area is fine but please stay off this area,' or, 'I don't feel comfortable with this.'"
Daisy also explained how some of the sex scenes helped to further the story.
The actress - who plays student Marianne Sheridan in the series - said: "There was always a purpose to those scenes. For example, Connell and Marianne's first time is about Marianne being made to feel safe by Connell and I just love the idea that she asks for protection as I have never seen that in scenes."
Meanwhile, Daisy recently insisted she feels "proud" of her sex scenes with Paul.
She also downplayed the idea that the scenes are "raunchy or explicit".
Daisy explained: "That's one of the things I'm most proud of in the whole series is that sense of equality between Paul and I, and is the representation of intimacy between Marianne and Connell.
"I remember before the show actually aired, I had a few nasty comments on my Instagram because it was talked about a lot that there was to be quite a few raunchy scenes.
"I remember reading that because I thought it was interesting because I don't really think of those scenes as raunchy or explicit because I really don't think they are."
