AJ and Curtis Pritchard are set to join the cast of ‘Hollyoaks’.
The former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional and the ‘Love Island’ hunk have landed their first on-screen acting role in the Channel 4 soap, where they will play twin brothers.
AJ, 26, is believed to have already filmed his first scenes on the Chester-based programme, whilst 24-year-old Curtis will follow suit in the coming days.
The brothers will play on-screen twins, who will be involved in the grand opening of a dance school run by returning character Trish Minniver, who was last seen in 2012 and will this time be played by former ‘Coronation Street’ star Denise Welch.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “It’s an unlikely move by the brothers but they’re up for trying new things.
“It was an idea mooted a little while ago and both parties seemed keen, so they’ve made it happen.
“AJ and Curtis are thick as thieves, and look identical, so playing a pair of twin brothers will be no issue at all.
“They hope it’ll show a different side of them to one viewers of ‘Strictly’ and ‘Love Island’ have seen already.”
And the news has been confirmed by the brothers themselves, who have said they “can’t believe” they’re going to be starring in “one of [their] favourite dramas”.
AJ explained: “I can’t believe we will be featuring on ‘Hollyoaks’, we have grown up with the show on TV and it’s always been one of our favourite serial dramas. Our characters are fantastic, and we can’t wait for everyone to see how we bring them to life.”
Whilst Curtis added: “I am so excited to be working with my brother AJ on a show we grew up watching! I am also excited to continue our journey together with Channel 4 and E4.”
As of the time of writing, it’s not yet known when AJ and Curtis’ characters will land in the fictional town of Hollyoaks.
