Starzplay, an expanding streaming platform which now spans 59 countries and gives customers access to amazing Originals as well as feature films from STARZ, has announced that season two of the original crime drama, BMF, will be getting another season.
Executive produced by Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, who is a rapper, actor, television producer and businessman, BMF is set in 1980s Detroit, Michigan and tells the tale of the real-life Flenory family.
The series premiered internationally on Starzplay on Sunday, 26th September, 202, and is streaming actor Europe, Latin America and Japan; new episodes are available every Sunday.
“Curtis '50 Cent’ Jackson continues to find and cultivate stories like BMF that are culturally relevant,” says Jeffrey Hirsch, President and CEO of STARZ, “bringing the network important untold stories that are incredibly diverse both in front of and behind the camera,”
“Following such a strong debut,” continues Hirsch, “we’re excited to see what Curtis, Randy and the award-worthy cast deliver in the second season.”
BMF takes inspiration from the real story of a pair of brothers, who broke through the rotting streets of Detroit in the late 80s, to later create one of the most influential crime families in America.
Demetrius ‘Big Meech’ Flenory’s (Demetrius Flenory Jr.) charming leadership, Terry ‘Southwest T Flenory’s (Da'Vinchi) business savvy, and the fraternal partnership’s view beyond the drug trade and into their future of hip-hop, would make the brothers iconic on a worldwide level.
The brother’s unshakable belief in the loyalty of family was what bound them together, but also the thorn in their side that led to their estrangement.
BMF boasts a story with family ties, loyalty, dreams and ambitions; and with the success of season one, fans can only wonder what 50 Cent has up his sleeve for season two.
Along with Flenory Jr. and Da’Vinchi, BMF stars Russell Hornsby (Fences), Michole Briana White (Dead to Me), Ajiona Alexus (13 Reasons Why), Eric Kofi Abrefa (Blue Story), Myles Truitt (Black Lightening) Steve Harris (Diary of a Mad Black Woman).
Arkeisha ‘Kash Doll’ Knight and Wood Harris (Creed) star in recurring roles, with La La Anthony (Think Like a Man) and Serayah (Empire) are both set as recurring guest stars.
While nothing else about season two of BMF is known at the minute, fans can still revel in the current season and prepare themselves for another thrilling ride.
