Tim - played by Joe Duttine - will be set for a shock on the soap next month when he discovers that his wedding ceremony from a Las Vegas ceremony 15 years ago was legal, making his marriage to wife Sally null and void.

The realisation comes about when Tim's father Geoff (Ian Bartholomew) returns from Las Vegas with Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) and reveals they have tied the knot. When Tim suggests they wed in the UK to make it legal, he is horrified to discover that the Vegas wedding is legally binding in the UK.

Joe told Inside Soap magazine: "Tim was on a lads' trip in Vegas about 15 years ago and got into a bit of trouble. It's never occurred to him, until Geoff gets back from his own wedding. Tim had forgotten about his marriage out there - it was just a skeleton in the closet. But now it's chasing him!"

Tim is forced to track down his wife Charlie (played by former 'Emmerdale' star Sian Reeves) and ask for a divorce but it is set to lead to troubles in his marriage to Sally.

Joe told Digital Spy: "This isn't Tim having an affair. He's just been on a lads' trip to Vegas 15 years ago and got into a bit of trouble, so it's not like he has been disloyal to Sally.

"It's not even occurred to him until Geoff and Yasmeen return from Las Vegas and Tim realises that actually he got married in Vegas and it is real. It's not something that has bothered him until it's been brought to light.

"There's no adultery but I think that Sally would be embarrassed and ashamed to hold her head high in the street knowing that her husband has married somebody else, so it'll be more about pride.

"Her pride would definitely be hurt and it's more like: 'Tim, you bloody idiot, you've made a right fool of yourself and shown me up!'"
