Eileen Grimshaw will be held at gunpoint in terrifying 'Coronation Street' scenes set to air next week.
Actress Sue Cleaver has opened up about the ordeal, which sees her character caught up with Todd's enemy Mick, who reveals himself to be his former lover before Eileen's son - who has been recast with Gareth Pierce taking over the role - stole from him.
Speaking to Digital Spy, she said: "There's no time to think about it. Eileen just finds herself in it, with a gun being pointed at her. It's like her whole life is just in this bizarre world again!
"But she's determined that she can make it right. She thinks that she can get through to this villain. She's really certain that she can make everything okay.
"Todd's saying to her: 'You're not going to make it okay, keep your nose out of it'. But Eileen being Eileen, of course she's not going to keep her nose out. Of course they're all going to feel the wrath of Eileen!
"Some fans had criticised 'Corrie' bosses for recasting Todd - with Gareth taking over the role from Bruno Langley - as many called for a smoother transition with someone who looked similar to his predecessor.
However, Jack P. Shepherd (David Platt) dismissed the concerns and insisted the focus should always been on simply finding the right actor rather than a lookalike.
He said: "In my experience, that never works, you end up casting someone with same colour hair/eyes same teeth etc over acting capability, and the best actor/actress for the role misses out. (sic)
"He was backed up by former cobbles star Kym Marsh - who played Michelle Connor from 2006 until December 2019 - as she pointed out her own on-screen son Ryan has been played by Ben Thompson, Ryan Prescott and Sol Heras over the years.
She insisted: "Audiences will soon forget when they get used to it and if the actor is talented, the show will continue to be exciting and entertaining.
"Former Todd actor Bruno was previously sacked from 'Corrie' after he was convicted of sexual assault following an incident at a Manchester nightclub in 2017.
He admitted to two offences of sexual assault at Manchester Magistrates Court, but avoided jail and was sentenced to a 12-month community order.
The ruling also saw him ordered to complete 40 days of rehabilitation activity.
