Coronation Street's Liz McDonald and Johnny Connor's steamy affair is set to be exposed by her son.
The receptionist - played by Beverley Callard - and the businessman (Richard Hawley) found themselves in bed with one another recently after they grew close following the tragic suicide of Johnny's son Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) at the beginning of the year.
But it looks like their dirty secret won't remain hidden for long as Liz's hapless son Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is left reeling when he finds out about Johnny's night of passion with his mother.
The cabbie - who has had his fair share of affairs in the past - is set to confront Johnny over his infidelity, leaving the former factory owner flabbergasted and begging him not to tell anyone as he doesn't want his new wife Jenny Bradley (Sally Ann Matthews) to find out and leave him.
Determined to soften the situation, Liz promises Johnny she'll speak to Steve and make sure he doesn't tell anyone, but it's well known that nothing ever stays secret on the cobbles for long.
Things are set to get awkward next week when Johnny and Jenny agree to by the Rovers Return pub from Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor).
But, determined to make the best of their purchase, Johnny asks Liz - who used to own and run the famous boozer - to join them so that she can put her two-penneth in - despite their saucy affair.
In a bid to bring a new atmosphere to the cobbles, Johnny angers residents when he tells them he's planning to take the pub in a "new direction" by renaming it The Roverz.
A source said: "Johnny decides that the pub needs a good lick of paint and a rebrand. Everyone is horrified when they hear he's going to call it The Roverz and tries to convince him to leave it as it is."
