'Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby is set to fall pregnant with Steve McDonald's baby after a drunken fling.
The awkward cabbie - played by Simon Gregson - finds himself in bed with the blonde beauty (Jane Danson) after he hits the bottle following a row with wife Michelle (Kym Marsh) over her intimate bond with her ex-boyfriend and first love Will Chatterton (Leon Ockenden) this summer.
However, things take a turn for the worse for Steve as not only has he been unfaithful but Leanne announces she's expecting his child and is planning on keeping the little one.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Steve will be left in a tricky situation when he finds out that Leanne is pregnant - and refuses to have an abortion."
Steve is determined to persuade Leanne to terminate the pregnancy before his wife finds out and ends their marriage for good but his plan backfires as the businesswoman has been desperate to have a baby of her own since she suffered a miscarriage in 2011.
Leanne took on her ex-husband Peter Barlow's (Chris Gascoyne) troubled son Simon (Alex Bain) when they got together and has always tried to treat him as her own but she's made no secret of the fact she'd like her own baby.
Meanwhile, the shocking revelation will no doubt wreak havoc for Steve and Michelle as their marriage is already on the rocks following the barmaid's smooch with Will.
