The 45-year-old actor - who has played Sean Tully on the cobbles since 2003 - is delighted to have the young star back as his on-screen son Dylan Wilson, and he has revealed the comeback won't be short-lived.

Appearing on ITV's 'Lorraine' on Friday (23.10.20), he said: "We've done a little short stint first of all, obviously, because the character is back for half term.

"Then he goes away again, then he's going to come back and do another short stint, and then come back full time. So it's very, very, very exciting.

"I'm just thrilled that it's Liam, that it's the same lad that I worked with when he was three years old."

The history the two actors share on 'Corrie' has helped with Liam's comeback, and Antony has enjoyed getting to explore their characters' relationship on screen.

He added: "Well, obviously the actor that came back, Liam, was there since he was a little baba.

"It's been really lovely, because I've stayed in touch with them - they're twins, Liam and Connor -  but Liam's come back to play him. So I've known them all their life.

"For an actor to come back as an older child is really unusual, that it's the same actor. We've had that shorthand straight away, so we got straight into it."

Antony also heaped praise on his young co-star's skills on set, and revealed the little things in his performance which make a big difference.

He said: "He's absolutely knock 'em dead brilliant. Towards the end of this little short stint that he's doing to begin with, we kind of started to play it where I was the petulant child and he was the grown-up.

"I think that's how me and him are gonna be. He did a brilliant eye-roll at me, which was completely natural."
