Connor McIntyre says Pat Phelan will get his comeuppance "for sure".
The 'Coronation Street' star - who plays the evil villain on the ITV soap - promised viewers that his character will get what is coming to him after getting involved in fraud, murder and even raping Anna Windass (Debbie Rush).
When asked if Phelan will get busted, Connor said: "That for sure will come."
However, Connor also teased there may be trouble ahead for Seb Franklin (Harry Visinoni) before the year is up.
Asked what happens to Seb, who has moved in with Phelan after being convinced that Anna had something to do with his fall, Connor said: "It's not going to be comfortable for a while is it? Seb's very involved with me. There is so much great stuff coming up."
The 56-year-old actor thinks there is some good in Phelan but says it is too late to go back now, given all that he has done.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning, he added: "People say to me, 'We can see that there's a good man struggling to get out'. Really! What do you think I get asked the most? The question I get asked the most is, 'Does he really love Eileen?' Now isn't that lovely. We know about all his misdemeanours, all his crimes, but does he really love Eileen. I think there was a big clue the other week when he thought Eileen might be in danger, he was beside himself ...
"It might be a little late for [him to turn good]. He's crossed the rubicon. But he's a tragic figure in the sense that he makes these choices and inevitably because of his pathology, it's the wrong ones. He's a dangerous narcissist and he keeps on making the wrong choices. At the end of the day, it's all about Pat."
