Colin Jackson has finished ‘Dancing on Ice’ in third place.
The 54-year-old former sprint and hurdling athlete made it all the way to the final of the ITV ice dancing competition, but narrowly missed out on being crowned the champion of the series when he became the first star eliminated from Sunday’s (14.03.21) live final.
Colin and his professional partner Klabera Komini managed to score perfect totals of 40 for both of their routines from the judges – Ashley Banjo, John Barrowman, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean – but it wasn’t enough to keep them in the competition as the voting public failed to save them from elimination.
Speaking after the vote was announced, he said: “It’s been a fantastic, fantastic adventure I’ve been on since the beginning of October. I’ve taken a wonderful new friend in Klabera, which is perfect. I’ve had great remarks from the judges, which I always tried to apply to the next stage of training. It’s been a privilege to have a routine choreographed by Jayne and Chris, I mean, it’s just been phenomenal.”
Colin’s eviction means Faye Brookes and Matt Evers and Sonny Jay and Angela Egan will now battle it out to lift the trophy later in Sunday’s episode.
The two pairs will dance the iconic bolero routine before the public have their final say and crown a winner.
