'Cold Feet' will return for a new series next year.
The popular show returned to ITV in 2016 after a 13-year absence, and it's proved such a hit with viewers since the reboot that bosses have decided to commission it for another instalment next year after the last series, which concluded two weeks ago, saw Adam Williams (James Nesbitt) split from his girlfriend Tina Reynolds (Leanne Best) after admitting he'd had an affair with his colleague Sarah Poynter (Amy Huberman).
Senior Drama Commissioner Victoria Fea said: "The nation's love affair with 'Cold Feet' continues, and we're thrilled to announce a new series for 2018."
The new six-part series will go into production next spring in Manchester and it's been confirmed that the main cast James, Hermione Norris, Robert Bathurst, Fay Ripley and John Thomson - who plays Karen Marsden, David Marsden, Jenny Gifford and Pete Gifford respectively - will be returning to continue their story.
The show's writer Mike Bullen explained: "I'm delighted that viewers still feel invested in the lives and loves of our imperfect heroes.
"And I'm excited that we're being given the opportunity to tell the next chapter of their stories. We've got plenty of trials and tribulations in store for them as they navigate their way through middle age, and more than a few laughs and tears along the way."
The script for the new series has already been written and Big Talk Production - who are producing - have teased that the new instalment is not one to be missed.
Executive Producer and CEO of Big Talk Productions Kenton Allen said: "It was a real privilege for Big Talk to be entrusted with the revival of 'Cold Feet', a show we were all huge fans and admirers of. So we are absolutely thrilled to be making a third series of this iconic show, following the amazing reaction to the last series. Mike has just delivered the first script of the new series and...all will be revealed in 2018."
