TV presenters Claudia Winkleman and Adrian Chiles will feature on a special festive episode of ‘Taskmaster’.
Channel 4 have announced the pair - along with rapper Lady Leshurr, Paralympian Jonnie Peacock, and politician Baroness Warsi - will compete on ‘Taskmaster’s New Year Treat’, which will see host Greg Davies and his sidekick and the show’s creator Alex Horne put the five celebrities through their paces with a series of strange and surreal challenges, as they bid to win the coveted Taskmaster trophy.
The episode will broadcast over the festive period with more details about the exact date and time to follow.
Last year, the new year episode featured actor John Hannah, ‘Channel 4 News’ anchor Krishnan Guru Murthy, actress Nicola Coughlan, presenter Rylan Clark-Neal and ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ head judge Shirley Ballas.
The latest, 12th season of the show was won by impressionist Morgana Robinson, who competed alongside Victoria Coren Mitchell, Desiree Burch, Alan Davies and Guz Khan.
Earlier this week, the 13th season’s line-up was announced and will feature Judi Love, Chris Ramsey, Ardal O’Hanlon, Bridget Christie and Sophie Duker.
The show - which has previously been won by Lou Sanders, Bob Mortimer, Noel Fielding and Rob Beckett - began life on UKTV’s Dave in 2015 after the concept was devised at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe by Alex in 2009, but the show later made the move to Channel 4.
Alex wrote on Twitter at the time: “Hello! Taskmaster is moving to Channel 4. I promise the show won’t change & there’ll be the same amount of personal and professional humiliation. Thank you to everyone at UKTV for looking after us so brilliantly for nine series. V excited. But now I have to go and clean the house. (sic)”
