Clara, 38, said: "I'm delighted to be working with BAFTA again this year. The UK has been spoiled with such a glorious range of compelling and entertaining television, so to celebrate the nominees on the red carpet alongside my fabulous friend Michelle Visage will be such a joy. I truly couldn't think of a better person to have by my side as we speak to this year's incredible nominees."

Michelle, 54, commented: "I'm so happy to be back in my favourite place to celebrate the biggest night in British TV. I can't wait to have some laughter and fun, welcoming this year's fantastically talented nominees onto the carpet alongside my co-host and dear friend, the amazing Clara Amfo."

'The Responder' and 'This Is Going To Hurt' lead the nominations with six apiece.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts' shortlist saw the BBC's top shows lead the way.

'This Is Going To Hurt' star Ben Wishaw and 'The Responder's Martin Freeman are both nominated for leading actor, while the latter is in the running for the drama series prize, as well as the original music category.

Meanwhile, first time nominees Josh Finan and Adelayo Adedayo are on the shortlist for the respective supporting actor and actress awards.

'This Is Going To Hurt' also has nominations for mini series, director and editing in fiction, scripted casting and writer in drama.

'The Crown', 'Top Boy', 'Bad Sisters', 'The English', 'Slow Horses', 'Am I Being Unreasonable?', 'Big Boys' and 'Somewhere Boy' are all among the top nominees with multiple nods.

The BAFTA Television Awards with P+O Cruises will be hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan and will be broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 14 May at 7pm.
