The 'Surprise Surprise' and 'Blind Date' host passed away earlier this month after suffering a stroke caused by hitting her head in a fall and it's now been revealed she had "given her blessing" to a West End show about her life before the tragic accident.

Her representative, Nick Fiveash said: "Following recent reports in the media this is to confirm that prior to her untimely death Cilla Black had given her blessing to a West End stage production based on her life. Cilla was thrilled and excited at the idea, and was looking forward to its development.

"Her manager, son Robert Willis, had been in continuous talks with a West End producer regarding early stages of planning, but obviously these are now on hold for the time being."

The 'Anyone Who Had Heart' singer was previously portrayed by former West End actress Sheridan Smith in the ITV mini-series 'Cilla'.

Meanwhile, Cilla - who was staying at her holiday home in Marbella, Spain when she died - is to be laid to rest in her hometown of Liverpool next week.

Mr. Fiveash added: "Further details of press arrangements for Cilla's funeral next Thursday (27.08.15) will be released later today (17.08.15). Once again the family have asked for their privacy to be continually respected at this difficult time."
