Christopher Biggins' mother has died.
The 69-year-old pantomime legend has announced that his "beautiful darling" mum Pam passed away on Wednesday (04.04.18) night at the age of 93 at Castleview nursing home in Salisbury but she maintained her sense of humour until the very end.
Taking to his Twitter account today (05.04.18), he wrote: "Our beautiful darling mother Pam passed away last night. We would like to thank all the incredible staff at Castle View in Salisbury, who were so kind and attentive to her. I saw her last week and I said "Can you see me Mum" of course I can you're so big. Hysterical to the end."
It's not yet known what Pam died of but she's had chronic arthritis since 2009.
She said at the time: "Arthritis has affected all of my joints, and I have been in agony for many years. I've also tried every remedy on the market."
Pam's death comes nearly nine years after her husband Bill died at the age of 81.
Speaking about his dad at the time, Biggins said: "My father had a great personality, an amazing sense of humour, and loved people. If I got any part of my character from him, it was his love of life and love of people. He was so popular in the local community, and he could turn his hand to anything."
Since Biggins announced the heartbreaking news, his good friend Debbie McGee sent him a message of condolence as she shared her own memory of Pam.
She wrote: "I am so sad to the news of your darling Mum.
"I remember meeting her when we did Family Fortunes and she was so warm and such a hoot. Sending lots of love xxx (sic)"
