Chris Packham has signed up for ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’.
The ‘Springwatch’ star is “looking forward” to be appearing on the star-studded edition of the Channel 4 show that sees people in the comfort of their own living rooms as they react to the hottest telly of the week, and he's joining the cast alongside his co-star and stepdaughter Meghan McCubbin.
The 62-year-old naturalist told RadioTimes.com: "’Gogglebox’ is a real barometer of what the nation is talking about. I am looking forward for Megan and I to add our two-bits to the conversation!"
Chris and Meghan will be joined on the show - which has already featured the likes of Denise Van Outen, Duncan James, Mo Gilligan, Babatunde Aléshé, Sam Ryder, Scott Mills and Nick Grimshaw - with fellow newcomers like ‘Big Brother’ presenter Davina McCall and her partner, celebrity hairstylist Michael Douglas, and comic Katherine Ryan and her husband Bobby Koostra.
The 39-year-old comedian recently told The Sun newspaper: “It’s usually just the dogs who get to see us watch TV, so we’re excited to welcome viewers into our home as we decompress in our favourite spot — the sofa.
“We’ve been huge Gogglebox fans for years and we are thrilled to be taking part.”
Katherine and Bobby - who were high school sweethearts and got back together while she was filming her episode of ‘Who Do You Think You Are’ in 2018 after she moved to London as a single mother to her 13-year-old daughter Violet - now have two kids, Fred, 23 months, and seven-month-old Fenna after getting married in a civil ceremony in Denmark in 2019.
Reflecting on their big day, she told Jonathan Ross on his chat show at the time: “It was a lovely day.
“It’s perfect having a civil partner. We didn’t have a wedding, I didn’t need to put on a white dress and pretend to be a virgin, that ship has sailed!”
