Chris Hughes has insisted he never dated Mary Bedford.

The 28-year-old TV personality was spotted on a date with current 'Love Island' contestant Mary, 22, last year, following his split from Jesy Nelson and Chris says he had no idea Mary was appearing on the reality TV show, as they are no longer in contact.
Chris - who was a contestant on 'Love Island' 2017 - told The Sun newspaper: "Mary's not my ex. I went on a date with her and I was pictured with her but that was as far as it went. She's a nice girl and I wish her all the best, but she's not my ex.
"It was ages ago, about a year ago. I don't really want to chat about Mary because I don’t really know a lot about her to be honest."
However, onlookers who spotted the pair on their date, insisted they looked besotted with each other.
One source said at the time: "Chris and Mary went out for a slap-up dinner and looked really close. They were kissing and cuddling and were all over each other when they headed out at the end of the evening.
"They headed off in a cab to the train station together and looked really sweet together. He even tied her shoelaces for her."
Chris' date with Mary came after he admitted to being "heartbroken" about his split from Jesy after 15 months of dating.
He said: "I had a break-up so I needed to focus on myself. It happened right at the start of lockdown. It was tough.
"Everyone says time's a healer, and you don't believe it in the moment. I don't think I'd ever felt heartbroken before."
Chris is currently dating professional golfer Annabel Dimmock.
