Chris Fountain has been tipped to appear on 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
Bookmakers have received a flurry of bets on the axed 'Coronation Street' star potentially joining the Channel 5 reality show when it returns for a new series tomorrow (22.08.13).
Chris, 25, was fired from his role as Tommy Duckworth on Monday after foul-mouthed videos of him rapping about rape and violence emerged on the internet.
A betting industry source told the Daily Star newspaper: "There are rumours that he will use the show to explain himself and try to rebuild his career.
"Money has gone on him to do so. There's obviously something going on behind the scenes."
Show bosses are also thought to be eyeing Chris' 'Coronation Street' co-stars Michael Le Vell and Bill Roache - who are currently awaiting trial over alleged sexual offences against underage girls - as future 'Celebrity Big Brother' housemates should they be found innocent in their respective court cases.
An insider said: "Big Brother could be the perfect place for them to engage with the public again."
Meanwhile, Chris is reportedly "really angry" following his axe from the ITV soap on Monday (19.08.13), and believes producers may have had an ulterior motive.
A source revealed: "Chris is really angry at being sacked. He feels he has been hung out to dry. He kept saying: 'It was a year ago.'
"Chris offered to make a donation or visit to a rape crisis centre but neither of those things were listened to. Deep down he thinks another reason he was sacked was because they'd had enough of his character."
