Michelle Keegan almost broke Chris Fountain's hand filming her 'Coronation Street' birth scene.
The actress, who plays barmaid Tina McIntyre on the ITV soap, clearly got into the spirit while shooting the dramatic scenes as she squeezed tightly onto her co-star - who plays Tina's boyfriend Tommy Duckworth - injuring his hand.
Chris said: "I was holding her hand during the scene and she must have been going for it because my hand was nearly broken by the end of it. My fingers had all cracked!"
However, the actor went on to praise his on-screen girlfriend for making the scenes look so realistic.
He added: "I thought Michelle was absolutely fantastic. I've never been at a birth before but I've watched 'One Born Every Minute' and I've heard the sounds and seen what goes on. Fair play to her; I thought it looked absolutely fantastic.
Pregnant Tina is due to give birth in coming weeks after agreeing to be a surrogate for Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston) and Gary Windass (Mikey North).
Although the stars may play lovers on the soap, Chris thinks of sexy co-star Michelle as a sister and teases her over her "terrible" singing.
He told 'This Morning': "We get on like brother and sister. We have a lot of banter on set. The only thing that really annoys me about her is her singing because she can't sing. It's terrible. She's convinced she does a good Cher impression and it's just horrible."
