Nick Grimshaw was in talks to replace Chris Evans as the host of the return of 'TFI Friday' until Simon Cowell nabbed him for 'The X Factor'.
Chris - who previously described the 30-year-old BBC Radio 1 presenter as the "future of 'TFI Friday'" - has revealed he's "disappointed" that Grimmy is now set to be a judge on the ITV talent show, as it meant he was forced to re-hire himself for the new series of the Channel 4 cult chat show.
The 49-year-old TV presenter said: "Unfortunately (Nick) has another contract I found out about in The Sun newspaper. He's exclusive with ITV, so it's very disappointing. He will always be welcome on the show, though.
"I will be presenting the next eight shows (of 'TFI Friday') and I'm very excited about it."
Chris is currently at Glastonbury presenting his BBC Radio 2 show, and is also using his time at Worthy Farm to scout out up-and-coming artists to perform "brand new" music on the new series of 'TFI Friday'.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Chris said: "I will be trying to get some new music. Some of the music will be brand new.
"It's hard to do music on TV so somebody brand new has got as much chance of holding the audience as somebody that you know and love performing."
