Chris Evans will host the new series of 'TFI Friday'.
The 49-year-old presenter - who fronted the original show from 1996 to 1999 - will return to host a six-episode series following on from the success of the anniversary special which aired earlier this month.
Chris -who was recently announced as the replacement for Jeremy Clarkson on BBC Two's 'Top Gear' after signing a £3 million deal - confirmed his return to the Channel 4 show last night (22.06.15).
He wrote on Twitter: "Just written last chapter of new book. Had no idea it was going to start with a secret marathon and end with 'TFI Friday' and 'Top Gear'. Onwards! (sic)"
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Chris added: "I might actually spontaneously explode on live TV due to excitedness."
However, the move is said to have angered BBC bosses who are worried his new position will clash with his 'Top Gear' commitments.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The BBC are less than happy. They think having him host 'TFI' could really dilute his brand and might take away from what he is going to do on 'Top Gear'. This is a victory for Channel 4."
However, the company have refused to comment on the claims.
A spokesperson said: "We don't comment on contractual matters."
