Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has hit back at Simon Cowell following his comments about her weight.
The 54-year-old music mogul spoke out about his decision to axe the 'Crazy Stupid Love' singer from the 'X Factor USA' earlier this week claiming she'd put on weight and wasn't "herself" and she's now hit back, insisting his opinion doesn't matter to her.
She told Yahoo Celebrity: "I heard this rumour and I think a gentleman should never speak about a woman's age or weight but that's only if you're educated on how to treat a woman.
"So, unlucky for him. And who listens to Simon Cowell these days anyway. Does anybody? I don't listen to him anymore."
The 31-year-old star - who recently tied the knot to French restaurateur Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini - is set to return to the UK show with Louis Walsh, Mel B and Simon but admits she doesn't always see eye to eye with him.
She added: "Simon said a lot to the contrary which is interesting. I actually did an interview with just me and him a couple of weeks ago where he was like, 'The reason I love Cheryl and Mel is because they really want to find talent and that they're not interested in it because they're an artist'."
"I've been an artist for 12 years, you know, I found Cher Lloyd and I've had two winners."
Cheryl and Mel are both currently joint favourites to be crowned the winning judge in this year's series with bookmakers William Hill pricing them at 2/1.
Louis Walsh is 5/2, while head judge Simon Cowell is a 4/1 outsider, but he could have the last laugh as it is 1/1 for this year's 'X Factor' winner to get the Christmas number one single, which would no doubt delight the show boss should it happen.
William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said: "'The X Factor' is the big one - millions of pounds will change hands over the next few months and once again Simon Cowell will probably have the Christmas number one."
