Former 'Emmerdale' stars Chelsea Halfpenny and James Baxter are engaged.
The 29-year-old actress - who played the part of Amy Wyatt in the ITV soap between 2010 and 2013 - has announced her engagement via Instagram, proudly showing off her new engagement ring on the photo-sharing platform.
Alongside a series of throwback photos of them together, Chelsea wrote: "He liked it so he went and put a friggin ring on it!!!!!!!! Obv changed his name to ‘FIANCÈ [heart emoji]’ immediately on my phone. Also congrats to my 14-year-old self on managing to get the boy with the spikey hair that she fancied so much. [hearts, champagne glasses and stars emojis] (sic)"
Chelsea and James never actually shared any screen time together on 'Emmerdale', as he left the long-running soap in 2009.
However, some of their former castmates have been quick to offer their congratulations.
Charley Webb - who plays Debbie Dingle in the show - replied on Instagram: "Basically the best news of life [heart emoji] (sic)"
Isabel Hodgins (Victoria Sugden) wrote: "Oh Chels!!!!!! Amazing news!!! Love you both!! (sic)"
And Adam Thomas - who played Adam Barton - simply wrote in response to their announcement: "Wahooooo (sic)"
James, 30, has also shared some of their behind-the-scenes photos from their engagement celebrations on his Instagram Story.
Alongside one image of Chelsea's engagement ring, he wrote: "CAN'T SMILE WIDE ENOUGH [heart emoji] (sic)"
In 2018, Chelsea even joked she and James look "exactly the same".
Following her 'Emmerdale' exit, she starred as Alicia Munroe in 'Casualty' between 2015 and 2019, while James has played the part of Leroy in 'Still Open All Hours' since the show was revived in 2013.
