Charlotte Hawkins has returned to 'Good Morning Britain' after spending 10 days in isolation.
The 45-year-old presenter has recently been absent from the ITV studios after coming into contact with someone who had coronavirus, but Charlotte is now delighted to be back at work.
Speaking on the show, she said: "It’s good to be back after 10 days of isolation."
Charlotte revealed she'd taken advice from the show's resident health expert, Dr Hilary Jones, amid her isolation.
The broadcaster - who has a five-year-old daughter Ella - shared: "I was really worried and I just felt that huge sense of responsibility of keeping my family safe. It was a really tough thing to do."
Charlotte has also taken to social media to discuss her recent isolation.
Alongside a photo of herself and Ella, Charlotte wrote on Instagram: "I can’t tell you how hard I found it having to self-isolate for ten days, & how relieved I am it’s over and all is OK. Not being able to be near this special one... not being able to hug her was heartbreaking, but not knowing whether I had Covid or not meant I needed to keep my family safe. I’m so relieved I escaped it & tested negative, I know so many others haven’t been as lucky. Sending love to all those going through it right now, & thinking of all those facing a tough time at the moment who can’t hug their loved ones. It makes you so thankful for what you have. If you’re able to, hug them close tonight (sic)"
Charlotte stressed that self-isolation was a "legal requirement", rather than a choice.
She wrote on Twitter: "There seems to be a worrying amount of misinformation on here about self-isolation. It’s a legal requirement to self-isolate if you’re contacted by NHS Test & Trace, or if you test positive. It’s not a choice, it’s your responsibility to do it properly to protect those around you (sic)"
