Charlotte Dawson plans to eat her placenta once she gives birth.
The former ‘Ex on the Beach’ star – who is the daughter of late comedian Les Dawson – is currently expecting her first child with her fiance Matthew Sarsfield, and has said she’s already put plans in place to freeze her placenta once she gives birth, so she can have it sent off to be made into ingestible pills.
Speaking in a Q&A on her Instagram Story, she said: "I've got a freezer bag for freezing my placenta ready. I'm getting it made into pills and tablets."
While not medically confirmed, it is thought by some that eating the placenta can raise energy levels, improve the quantity of breast milk a new mother produces and also lowers chances of insomnia and postpartum depression.
Meanwhile, Charlotte recently revealed she’s been suffering from Braxton Hicks - which are also known as false labour pains - as she prepares to welcome her first child.
She said: "I've had Braxton Hicks all day I think they are and a few pezza pains does that mean it’s soon.
"So nervy but so excited.
"How is all my beltin followers feeling? My last few weeks I’ve been drained and so hormonal. Love you all. (sic)"
And the 28-year-old star has also said she is "worried" about her unborn baby after being diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Charlotte revealed she was "struggling mentally" after finding out she has high glucose levels, meaning she's had to change her diet.
She said: "I am struggling mentally with everything. It’s mentally draining, feeling like this.
"I think it’s probably getting to me as well, if I’m down I usually have chips and gravy … and I can’t! I’m just so worried about doing anything to the baby, that’s what I’m so worried about, of anything happening to him. Having a baby in a pandemic … it’s not easy."
